What the Job Involves The role of Grounds Operative General requires maintaining public green spaces, including grass cutting, hedge trimming, and sports fields upkeep. Responsibilities include setting out and marking sports areas, cleaning public buildings, and conducting visual inspections of playground equipment. You will work with handheld tools, tractors, and light plant machinery while ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. The position involves minimal supervision and managing trainees or other assigned employees. Work hours are 43 per week during April-October, reducing to 31 per week from October-April.
