Job Purpose:
Assist in the design, implementation, and maintenance of our network infrastructure. The individual will be part of the Technology Network Services team working to resolve network related issues.
Responsibilities:
1. Assist in the installation, configuration, and support of network equipment including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.
2. Troubleshooting: Identifying and resolving network issues, such as connectivity problems and outages.
3. Network Security: Implementing and managing security measures, including firewalls and access controls, to protect the network from threats.
4. Documentation: Maintaining detailed records of network configurations, changes, and performance metrics.
5. Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure optimal operation.
6. Collaborate with senior engineers to implement network upgrades and improvements.
7. Maintain network documentation and update configurations as needed.
8. Provide technical support to end-users and resolve network-related issues.
9. Align with information security architecture and policy.
10. Aligns with the Disaster/Recovery framework for IT services to successfully underpin the WHS continuity plan.
Key Skills Required
Experience and knowledge:
1. Experience in analysing supporting networks to resolve issues, identify trends and drive service improvement.
2. Experience of creating and implementing a plan for delivering required changes.
3. Good organisation and administration skills, often juggling multiple priorities.
4. Good communication skills – able to communicate IT related issues to both technical and nontechnical audiences.
5. Understanding of ITIL model.
6. (ideal) Networking qualification.
7. (ideal) Worked in a Retail environment for 1+ years.
Skills/capabilities:
1. Experience of customer relationship management.
2. Experience of managing third party suppliers.
3. Experience in managing the needs and perspectives of a team and stakeholders.
4. Experience of working in a multi-site organisation.
5. Data analysis.
6. Excel and computer literate.
7. Pragmatic and swift approach to issue resolution.
8. Ability to collaborate effectively with users and prioritise faults effectively.
