Job summary An opportunity has arisen for a highly specialist, Pharmacist to lead the ABUHB Electronic Prescribing and Medicines Administration (ePMA) Pharmacy Team. The postholder will be pivotal in delivering ePMA across ABUHB, working alongside digital and healthcare professional colleagues. This is an exciting time for ABUHB as we progress ePMA implementation, and we need an experienced pharmacist to join the project team. The postholder will have a passion for improving patient safety, working both under their own initiative and collaborating with the project team and senior clinical stakeholders. They will be a highly skilled, committed, self-driven individual who has the ability to plan and co-ordinate day-to-day activities, whilst taking the needs of the service into consideration. This role requires a range of both clinical and technical experience and expertise. Ideally, the right candidate will have previous experience in the configuration and deployment of ePMA in a health organisation. This role will need a full-time dedicated person who can work flexibly to deliver the pharmacy elements of ePMA project. Initially this role will require availability during core working hours (Monday to Friday) to accommodate clinical areas. As the programme progresses through implementation, the postholder will work as part of the team that has extended flexible working, including participation in shift working arrangements to accommodate early mornings, late evenings and weekends. Main duties of the job This programme of work will require the application of substantial clinical experience to: Empower clinicians with the tools and information required to aid decision making and safe delivery of care. Improve patient care and safety. Use digital technology to support ABUHBs wider transformation agenda. Provide clinical leadership as a professional and visible role model, providing expert professional advice within/outside ABUHB Have an expert working knowledge of all functionalities of ePMA and associated workflows Make decisions and have difficult conversations with senior clinicians in relation to existing practices and proposed changes throughout the delivery of the transformation Support the Head of Pharmacy and senior colleagues across the organisation, in developing, monitoring and reporting on medicines expenditure, to ensure delivery of financial savings and clinical optimisation as part of the ePMA benefits realisation. Lead, develop, coordinate, and contributing to various procedural and clinical audits and lead in the development of new ways of working Develop, maintain and deliver educational and training materials and a programme of training in the safe use of ePMA.
