Job Title: Technical Manager
Location: East Yorkshire
Salary: £40,000 – £50,000 (depending on experience)

Overview:
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a dedicated and proactive Technical Manager to join a successful chilled food manufacturer based in East Yorkshire. This is an excellent role for an experienced Technical Manager or a strong Assistant Technical Manager ready to take the next step in their career.
Key Responsibilities:

Lead the site’s technical and quality agenda, ensuring full compliance with food safety, legality, and quality standards.

Manage the Quality Assurance and Technical team, promoting a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.
*
Oversee internal and external audits, including BRC, customer, and regulatory inspections.
*
Maintain and develop food safety systems (HACCP, TACCP, VACCP), ensuring documentation is always audit-ready.
*
Liaise with key customers on technical matters, including specifications, complaints, and product launches.
*
Ensure supplier approval processes and raw material specifications are maintained and reviewed regularly.
*
Work closely with NPD and Production teams to support product trials, launches, and ongoing quality improvements.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

A strong technical background within the food manufacturing sector, ideally chilled or short shelf-life products.
*
Previous experience as a Technical Manager, or a solid foundation as an Assistant Technical Manager looking to step up.
*
Good understanding of BRCGS, HACCP, and UK retailer standards.
*
Confident in customer interaction and building strong working relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders.
*
Excellent leadership and organisational skills, with a hands-on approach and attention to detail.
Qualifications:

A relevant food science or technical qualification is desirable but not essential with sufficient industry experience.
*
HACCP Level 3 (minimum), Food Safety Level 3
