This is an exciting opportunity to join our highly successful, committed, and well-established Physical Education department in our growing academy. The department has a long-standing history of success at local, county, and national levels across a range of sports. We are privileged to boast amazing facilities on both our campuses, including multiple sports halls, dance studios, numerous outdoor pitches, a full outdoor athletics facility, and purpose-built gymnasiums. We have strong links with local clubs and community providers.
We are seeking to appoint a strong all-rounder, with a games background preferred but not essential. Candidates will need to be confident teaching across the age groups, including delivering varied invasion, net and striking & fielding games, gymnastics, athletics, fitness, trampolining, and dance. The successful candidate will need to be enthusiastic, well-organised, adaptable, willing to run extra-curricular clubs, and demonstrate a commitment to raising the attainment of all pupils in a challenging classroom environment. The ability to teach Core, GCSE, and Cambridge Nationals to an excellent standard is desirable.
We’re looking for an individual who:
* Has knowledge of the national secondary education system, examinations, and curriculum
* Can lead by example, through outstanding practice and professionalism
* Cares about students, their learning, and their futures
* Is driven to make a difference, to overcome barriers, to be relentless in enabling all students to make exceptional progress
* Is committed to their own personal development and to collaborative, consultative working
What we offer:
* Salary higher than the national pay scales
* Twice as many training days as standard and network-wide events with Ark colleagues, held by the best minds in education
* Weekly staff training designed to meet the needs of the school
* Coaching for every teacher
* Protected co-planning time
* Access to high-quality professional development, including nationally recognised qualifications such as the NPQML and NPQSL
* Opportunities to collaborate with colleagues across the network
