Location: Supporting schools across the A3 corridor, within a 20-mile radius of Guildford, GU1 .
Salary: £30,000 per annum
Contract: Full-time, 52 weeks per year

As a Regional Support Chef de Partie, you will play an essential role in supporting in a variety of our independent schools across the A3 corridor, primarily within a 20-mile radius of Guildford, GU1. Working with Holroyd Howe, a leading contract catering company known for its commitment to quality, creativity, and service, you'll be part of a team that provides exceptional food experiences to students and staff. You must have a driver’s license and your own vehicle in order to apply for this role as regular travel between our schools is required. Fuel and mileage expenses will be covered and reimbursed by the business.
Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
* Supporting schools across the Surrey region by stepping into busy kitchens as needed.
* Preparing and presenting high-quality dishes while maintaining consistent standards.
* Collaborating with local kitchen teams to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
* Maintaining a focus on food safety and hygiene practices at all times.
* Assisting in menu planning and ensuring meals meet the nutritional requirements of students.
* Managing food stock, including receiving deliveries, checking quality, and minimizing waste.
* Ensuring all kitchen equipment is maintained and used safely.
* Supervising junior kitchen staff and helping to develop their skills.
* Managing time effectively to ensure smooth service delivery, even during busy periods.
* Adhering to all health and safety regulations and policies in line with the organisation’s standards.
Qualifications
* Experience as a Chef de Partie or similar role in a professional kitchen.
* Strong understanding of food safety and hygiene practices (Level 2 Food Safety in Catering is desirable).
* Ability to work efficiently under pressure and adapt to different kitchen environments.
* Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
* Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks during busy periods.
* A valid driver’s license and own vehicle (mandatory).
* Passion for food and creativity in menu planning.
* Experience in contract catering or education catering is a plus but not essential.
