The Role
Are you looking for an exciting opportunity to make a difference? Join our team and contribute to the future of fusion energy. As a Cyber Security Analyst Apprentice, you will play a pivotal role within the Information & Cyber Security Group, where you will be encouraged to work in a variety of environments, learning new skills with support from a wealth of experienced Engineers, Analysts, Technicians and Specialists.
As an apprentice within the Cyber Security Analyst pathway, you will be responsible for the implementation, maintenance and support of the security controls that protect the organisation’s systems and data assets from threats and hazards. Ensuring that security technologies and practices are operating in accordance with the organisation’s policies and standards to provide continued protection.
In this role, you will acquire a broad understanding of network infrastructure, software and data to identify where threat and hazard can occur. You will be responsible for performing periodic vulnerability assessments to evaluate the organisation’s ongoing security posture and will provide visibility to management of the main risks and control status on an ongoing basis. You will also respond to security incidents and implement resolution activities across the organisation.
Additional Responsibilities:
* Complete national academic qualification as defined by the apprenticeship training standard: Digital and technology solutions professional / Institute for Apprenticeships and Technical Education
* Attend designated training provider, develop and attain a good knowledge of procurement skills.
* Represent the UKAEA Organisation and attend external outreach and careers events.
Qualifications
Essential Requirements:
* 5 GCSEs grade 9-4 (A*-C), including Maths and English, (or BSL for those whose primary language is BSL)
* Self-motivated and unafraid to use their initiative.
* IT literate and fluent in MS Office
