Our client, based in Yeovil (BA20), is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer with Aircraft Experience and a Maintenance background. With knowledge of mechanical or electrical Aircraft systems, the Manufacturing Engineer holds a pivotal role within the Manufacturing Engineering Department. This is a full-time temporary position working 37 hours per week until August 2025 with the possibility of extension.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Create Manufacturing Bills of Material (BOM) to define the build of Aircraft.
2. Creation of Delivery Standard Documentation (TSD) to support procurement activity to ensure suppliers have a comprehensive and accurate specification for material requirements.
3. Responsible and accountable for the accurate and timely availability of Work Instructions to support the Master Production Schedule (MPS).
4. Process design changes & introduce them into the current assembly process.
5. Identification and implementation of improvements to the build process and build logic.
6. Amend work instructions on the Production Line to rectify errors and keep the build line moving.
7. Must be able to represent Manufacturing Engineering in a Shop Support role.
8. Compile SAP Production Orders to manufacture or rework components using on-site facilities.
9. Maintenance of the Manufacturing Engineering ZPES SAP module.
10. Responsible for identification and requesting of Tooling on the Assembly lines.
11. To provide estimates of production times to enable accurate capacity planning and cost estimating.
DESIRABLE REQUIREMENTS:
1. A knowledge of Mechanical or Electrical Aircraft Systems, depending on own discipline.
2. Experience working on Aircraft.
3. A background in maintenance.
4. Experience in creating instructions for maintenance.
5. 3D Modelling skills.
6. Experience with SAP and/or FAST would be helpful but training will be provided.
