Warehouse Assistant
Duration: 3 months, with possibility of extension
Location: Portlethen
Pay Rate: £12.82 p/hr
Hours: Monday to Friday 8.30am to 4.30pm. 37.5hrs
As Warehouse Assistant with our client your job role will encompass receipt, issuance, locating, picking, and despatching all commodities within the warehouse function, ensuring that all transactions are executed through our Warehouse Management System. During the execution of this role, there will be a requirement to use mechanical handling equipment and hand tools while following processes and procedures with an emphasis on continual improvement. A good degree of conscientious accuracy when processing shipments is required.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Processing deliveries entering the warehouse, physically checking and counting parts for accuracy against paperwork.
2. Identifying discrepancies and reporting damaged/incorrect deliveries to management.
3. Using matching traceability codes to locate stock for picking orders.
4. Emptying general waste & recycle bins, maintaining a high standard of general housekeeping where required.
5. Assisting with general warehouse tasks as requested in other sections within the warehouse.
6. Operating various storage and transport equipment, i.e., pallet trucks & trolleys.
7. Complying with all company HS&E (Health & Safety) and warehouse procedural requirements.
8. Participating in our clients Observation Reporting System to identify potential hazards within the workplace.
9. Participating in on-call rota as required.
10. Carrying out a reasonable amount of overtime as and when required and in line with operational requirements.
11. Supporting the Warehouse Manager or supervisors in performing other duties as and when required.

Qualifications
Essential:
1. Standard Grade Level of Secondary Education or equivalent.
Desirable:
1. Technical qualification related to the job role.
2. Basic IT skills with Word/Excel.
Experience
Desirable:
1. Use of ERP Systems.
2. Experience within a warehouse environment.
Skills, training, or special knowledge
Essential:
1. Computer literacy including basic knowledge of Microsoft applications.
2. Good communication skills.
Desirable:
1. Practical training on all essential workshop lifting equipment including Overhead Crane and Forklift trucks.
