In this role, you will lead the continuous improvement of management practices relating to employee casework, accident reporting, and service reviews within Adult Social Care. Working closely with service managers, you will foster a culture of early intervention, consistency, and safer working environments by identifying skills gaps and process improvements. As the directorate’s lead for employee cases and appeals, you will make fair and consistent decisions on complex employment matters, ensuring alignment with council values, policies, and the Adult Social Care Workforce Strategy. You will translate learning from investigations, inspections, and reviews into recommendations that enhance service performance, working with managers to embed and evaluate improvements. This role involves making key decisions around complex issues and working in partnership with our HROD services to support organisational development and to meet training requirements. Collaborating with key stakeholders—including trade unions, Health and Safety, and Legal—you will drive a consistent, person-centred approach to resolving employee matters. Who we are looking for… We are looking for an experienced and dynamic leader with extensive knowledge of the Adult Social Care sector and its regulatory environment. You will have a proven track record of leading and motivating teams, fostering a positive and empowering workplace culture, and delivering high-quality, customer-focused services. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential, along with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively at all levels. You should have experience driving cultural and behavioural change, managing complex employee matters, and working within large, multi-disciplinary organisations.
