Further information: An active male Personal Assistant is required to support a 23-year-old disabled man in the HU3 area of Hull.
He has autism and global development delay. He is unable to communicate verbally and uses non-verbal communication in the form of pec cards. He is 6ft tall but has no sense of his own size or awareness of danger. The PA employed would be required to assist him with accessing social activities such as swimming, trips out, going for walks, and attending appointments, and also make sure that he is safe.
He needs assistance with personal care and support when going to the toilet. He needs help with preparing meals and maintaining personal hygiene. He also needs accompanying to his local church.
A car driver is preferred with a full clean driving licence. The PA must be a non-smoker and have experience working with people with multiple needs.
Applicants must be happy around dogs and cats (the family has a therapy dog) and must have a calm, respectful, and compassionate nature, awareness, and be sensitive to the man’s needs.
