Job Description
Responsible for operating presses to ensure a quality product is produced in a timely manner while conforming to work order specifications and applicable quality, manufacturing, and/or safety procedures.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Operates two presses while performing visual and in-process inspection.
2. Uses DMS to enter order specifications and to print labels that are placed on the finished product.
3. Utilizes measuring instruments such as comparators, microviews, verniers, etc.
4. May perform first piece and last piece inspection.
5. Operates assembly equipment when applicable.
6. Reads blueprints and utilizes computers for proper dimensions and customer specifications including reel size and placement of reels.
7. Oils press posts and cleans wash tanks when necessary.
8. Removes tools after run and places in designated racking area.
9. Removes reels from press, places in a box, and brings to staging area via a hand truck.
10. Disposes of any scrap metal to designated area.
11. Maintains work logs containing specific job information.
12. Fills out damaged materials reports (DMR) in cases of incorrect material or any deviations from the norm.
13. Records and maintains information on statistical process sheets (SPC).
14. Notifies supervisor and/or team leader of any deviations from the process.
15. Operates machines and equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
16. Will perform other duties in accordance with skill and availability.
SECONDARY FUNCTIONS:
1. May utilize and be expected to understand quality areas such as problem-solving techniques.
2. Receives direction and support from Supervisor, Manager, and/or Management Team.
3. Maintains an accurate record of all work performed in appropriate company format.
4. Maintains a neat, clean, orderly, and safe work environment.
