Year 6 Teacher Responsibilities Plan and deliver challenging and engaging lessons tailored to Year 6 students. Prepare students for SATs, ensuring they are confident and well-prepared academically and emotionally. Monitor and assess student progress, providing feedback and setting achievable goals. Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages respect, collaboration, and independence. Support students’ social and emotional development as they prepare for secondary school. Work collaboratively with colleagues to maintain the school’s outstanding standards and inclusive ethos. Communicate effectively with parents/guardians, sharing progress and addressing concerns. Participate in professional development, staff meetings, and whole-school initiatives. Year 6 Teacher Requirements Bachelor’s Degree in Education or a related field. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent. Experience teaching Key Stage 2, particularly Year 6, with a strong understanding of SATs preparation. In-depth knowledge of the National Curriculum and effective teaching and assessment practices. Commitment to inclusive education and supporting diverse needs. Strong communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills. Enthusiasm for professional development and implementing innovative teaching strategies.
