The Trainee Data Centre Supervisor is a key position in the delivery of Infrastructure Support Services to ONNEC Clients. Reporting to the Local Service Delivery Manager, the Data Centre Supervisor will be site-based and responsible for the delivery of Moves, Adds, and Changes (MAC) work and Business As Usual (BAU) works at a client Data Centre (in certain circumstances this may involve multiple Data Centres and/or Campus Sites).
What you will be doing as our Trainee DC Supervisor:
* Racking of servers and other hardware equipment.
* Restacking of equipment within existing technology rooms.
* Decommissioning of equipment within technology rooms.
* Removal of redundant infrastructure (empty cabinets, powered-off devices) from the technology rooms.
* Movement of equipment within site locations including stores.
* Connection of network patching to servers and other equipment within racks.
* Labelling of servers and other equipment.
* Installation of power distribution units within equipment racks and other equipment.
* Interface with Corporate Real Estate on mechanical and electrical provisioning.
* Technology component swaps.
* Technology room inspections.
* Alarm investigation assistance (I-patch/BMS/Peregrine).
* Identification to DCO management of redundant technology infrastructure.
* Escort and supervision of activities within technology rooms (i.e., 3rd party and other bank group activities).
* Work order review and assignment (Remedy Access required).
* Data Quality checks including a 100% validation of all physical assets against the client Asset management database on an annual basis.
* Project management coordination in the preparation and execution of activities associated with MEPC power events.
* Sequencing of activities and provision of oversight as part of the 3C’s program (Compress, Contain Closure).
* Carry out regular control assessments as part of the control self-assessment process.
* Provide governance oversight of in-country and specialty facilities, including annual site inspections to test operational controls and document gaps to track remediation.
* Carry out cable installation services in accordance with DCO cabling/patching schedules.
* Management of patching within equipment cabinets.
* Labelling of cabling in accordance with DCO standards and requirements.
* Supervision and QA for all cabling installs.
* Recovery of unused circuits/patching, structured cabling, and updating of any associated client cable management inventory systems.
* Cable Database and Cable Stock management and upkeep.
* Perform cable tracing activities and subsequent updates to inventory systems in preparation for Merge, Refresh, or other events.
* Provision of on-site specialist cabling resources when requested to address any cabling-related issues or queries.
* Updating/Editing of records in asset management system via Evergreen (TAMS).
* Verification of asset management system (TAMS) records (Remedy Access required).
* Documentation upkeep (required as part of BAU process).
* Tracking of daily activities, task completion, incident, and project status tracking.

* Current clean driving license and own transport.
* Clear DBS check.
* No CCJs or Bankruptcy for client vetting process.
