An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Cancer Centre. We are looking to recruit a dynamic, enthusiastic, and forward-thinking band 6 senior staff nurse to achieve band 7 Nurse Practitioner on completion of essential criteria for our cancer centre team within our Emergency Assessment Unit (EAU): Health Assessment L7 and Non-medical prescribing modules within 18 months.
This is a very exciting time to join the Cancer Centre nursing team at the University Hospital of North Midlands and play an integral role in delivering nurse-led services within this specialty.
Main Duties of the Job
EAU encompasses both the management of oncology and haematology patients who develop severe complications during systemic anti-cancer treatment (SACT), as well as the management of patients who present as oncological and haematological emergencies.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Registered Nurse on NMC Register
* Degree in Nursing or health/nursing related studies or evidence of continuing academic progression in combination with equivalent experience
* SACT Passport
* UKONS triage tool training
* Have or be willing to undertake Principles of Health Assessment Course level 7
* Have or be willing to undertake Non-Medical Prescribing
* ILS
Experience
* Minimum of 5 years post-registration experience to include at least 3 years within acute oncology/haematology specialty
* Experience in managing oncological and haematological conditions
* Experience in a leadership role
Skills, Ability & Knowledge
* Ability to develop medium and long-term plans to meet service need and ensure sustainability
* Experience in audit processes/research
* Excellent specialty knowledge
* Understanding of the modern NHS and UHNM strategy
* Ability to lead change and lead new ways of working
* Formal teaching to groups of staff
* Advanced communication skills training
