About the Role
To support our growth ambitions and deliver our Net Zero Acceleration Programme, we're recruiting a Ecology Data Manager into our Offshore Wind Capital Projects team.
You'll work alongside the wider ecology and consent team managing the ecology data platform and working on the Ijmuiden Ver Alpha offshore windfarm in the Netherlands, a c2GW Offshore windfarm scheduled for energisation in 2029.
Base Location: Flexible, however our preference is that you will be based in one of our key UK or Ireland sites, which includes but is not limited to: Glasgow, Perth, Aberdeen, Inverness, Reading, Havant, Belfast or Dublin.
Salary: £55,200 to £83,000 dependant upon experience + performance-related bonus + a range of other benefits to support your family, finances and wellbeing.
Working Pattern: Permanent | Full Time | Flexible First options available.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Lead the design and delivery of the project data platform and data portal. You will be the product owner for the platform/portal and data owner responsible for the management of all data on the platform for the duration of the project.
2. Manage continuous improvement of the data portal to provide high quality presentation of information and access to data and reports for all interested parties.
3. Identify use cases for data, based on their deep knowledge of ecology, the renewables industry, associated research communities, key stakeholders, etc. and educate a broad range of stakeholders of the importance/value of the Lely data ecosystem and its effective, fit-for-purpose data management.
4. Run a data management organisation, specifically to establish and lead working groups on key data issues, define improvement plans, and monitor progress and value realised.
5. Be able to define requirements, identify opportunities for continuous improvement, create data catalogues, implement tools for tracking data lineage, develop business glossaries, and monitoring data quality.
What do I need?
To be considered for this role, you need to have a positive, can-do attitude with a keen eye for detail, the ability to be proactive, work independently and function well as part of a team.
In addition, we would love you to have:
1. Be organised and record significant project data/information.
2. Good motivator and communicator able to work both independently and effectively as part of a team.
3. Proactive problem solver.
4. Prior experience working with ecology and/or geospatial data.
5. Experience of tools and platforms for managing a wide variety of data at scale, preferably with experience of cloud- or web-based technologies.
Given the international nature of the project, with a team spread over the UK, Ireland and the Netherlands, there will likely be an element of travel involved (3-4 days per month), depending on where the successful candidate ends up based.
