The role Fixed Term Contract until January 2026 Are you a dynamic leader with a passion for creating vibrant communities? Southern Housing is seeking an experienced Accommodation Manager to oversee various sites and help us achieve our vision of providing safe homes in places where residents are proud to live. As an Accommodation Manager, you will manage and upskill staff, provide demand-led support to our student and keyworker portfolio, and regularly travel between sites. Your responsibilities include building the annual site budget, managing accruals, maintaining financial records, and monitoring income and expenditure. You will maximize income by managing rent arrears, supporting residents, issuing legal proceedings, and recovering rechargeable services. You will maintain high occupancy levels by managing voids and allocations, collaborating with partners, and implementing local marketing initiatives. Providing sector-leading customer service, promoting cohesive living, and leading community events are key aspects of the role. You will work with the surveying team to ensure effective repairs and maintain optimal stock levels. Compliance with contractual, regulatory, and legal obligations, including health and safety, is essential. You will embed a performance-driven culture, understand and mitigate site risks, and lead operational relationships with the NHS and universities. Maintaining the site office to a high standard and staying updated on best practices and regulations are also part of your duties. Understanding of NHS hospital Key Worker accommodation services or similar, including best practice, the regulatory framework and relevant legislation within which Registered Providers operate. Knowledge of IT systems for the management of residential lettings, customer contacts, property management and compliance. Understanding health and safety and compliance in a residential setting.
