ROLE PURPOSE In this newly created position, you will be responsible for the design, development, management, and delivery of comprehensive technical documentation across the entireCorporate ITestate. To succeed you will need to have a thorough understanding of IT Infrastructure concepts, terminology and associated use cases, preferably with a background in a technical role. Demonstrable experience producing network diagrams, cabinet / wiring closet diagrams and technical configuration guides from working with technical architects and subject matter experts. In addition to the creation of technical documents you will also be responsible for enhancing the IT technical information and documents for ourCorporate ITend users, including general overviews, configuration/installation instructions, user guides, internal policy and processes, and charters. You will have sole responsibility for defining the documentation templates, their associated version control, permissions assignment and managing the data library repositories. You will be an expert in technical writing with strong organizational and communications skills, have experience in the review and redesign of existing technical documentation and where needed the production of documentation from the ground up. This will include but not be limited to network schematics, firewall configuration guides, networking infrastructure configuration diagrams and system management processes. MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES - Collaborate with cross-functional technical teams to gather information and interpret technical information to create accurate, clear, and user-friendly documentation - Plan, design, research, write, and edit a range of documents, includingCorporate ITuser guides and manuals, technical specifications, training materials, user policies, and proposals, for both print and online media - Conduct thorough reviews and edits of technical content to ensure clarity, accuracy, and consistency. - Utilize modern tools and technologies to improve documentation processes and deliverables - Establish and enforce documentation standards, templates, processes and best practices across Corporate IT. - Ensure documentation complies with industry standards, any relevant regulatory requirements, and best practices. - Gather feedback from stakeholders to continuously improve documentation quality and usability. - You will have the responsibility for setting the standard of our technical documentation with the opportunity to take ownership across growing domains. - Willingness to adapt to different projects, work with cross-functional teams, and actively communicate with stakeholders ensuring successful collaboration and the ability to meet project goals REQUIRED EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS Education and Experience: - University degree in the field of English or Communications. - A background in technology is desirable. - A minimum of 5 years equivalent work experience within a Technical Writer / Authoring role. Skills and Competencies - Experience in technical writing, particularly for IT and telecommunications. - Familiarity with technical terminology related to Enterprise IT, Networking, Cloud computing and Cybersecurity - Proven ability to work collaboratively with engineering teams across diverse geographical locations. - Proficiency in tools commonly used for technical writing and documentation platforms (MS Visio etc). The ability to research and gather information from various sources, including technical specifications, development teams, and subject matter experts, is critical to producing accurate and comprehensive documentation. - Excellent command over language, grammar, and technical writing conventions to convey complex information in a clear and concise manner - Solid understanding of technical concepts and the ability to grasp complex ideas quickly. - Possess excellent listening, written and oral communication skills. - Ability to absorb and retain information quickly, specifically complex technical information. - Strong relationship, interpersonal, and team skills. - Highly self-motivated and directed. - Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
