Senior Quantity Surveyor - Major Projects | Tier 1 Main Contractor
Location: Nottinghamshire, Leicestershire or Northamptonshire
Salary: £55,000 - £65,000 + Hybrid Working + Excellent Benefits + Company Performance Bonus
Are you a Senior Quantity Surveyor who thrives on high-value, high-impact projects? We're on the lookout for a commercially sharp, confident, and collaborative Senior Quantity Surveyor to join one of the UK's leading Tier 1 main contractors, delivering major works across the education, healthcare, MoD, MoJ and commercial sectors.

The Projects
You'll be working on large-scale projects typically £15m+, across a variety of contract types including JCT, Design & Build, and NEC3/4. These are fast-paced, technically rewarding schemes where your expertise will be essential to success.
We're particularly interested in candidates from Tier 1 or strong Tier 2 contractors, with the commercial acumen and practical experience to manage complex builds from the ground up.
Where You'll Be Based
You'll ideally live in Nottinghamshire, Leicestershire or Northamptonshire - and enjoy the flexibility of hybrid working with support from well-established regional offices and top-tier project teams.
What You'll Be Doing - Senior Quantity Surveyor Responsibilities
As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you'll take the commercial lead on exciting, high-profile schemes. Your key responsibilities will include:
1. Leading cost management across full project lifecycle
2. Managing subcontractor procurement and tendering
3. Providing robust commercial reporting and forecasting
4. Administering contract variations and change management
5. Working closely with the project delivery team to manage risk
6. Leading on value engineering and cost-saving initiatives
7. Maintaining and building supplier and subcontractor relationships
8. Attending project meetings and liaising with clients
9. Ensuring timely and accurate payments (in/out)
10. Managing final accounts and project close-out
11. Mentoring junior QS team members
12. Ensuring compliance with internal and external commercial standards
Is This You?
1. You're already operating as a Senior Quantity Surveyor or ready to step up
2. You've worked for a Tier 1 or Tier 2 main contractor
3. You've got experience on projects £15m+ in value
4. You're confident with JCT, D&B and NEC3/4 contract forms
5. You enjoy variety and challenge in your role - and you're great with people
