Job Advertisement: 1:1 SEND Teaching Assistant (KS1) Position: 1:1 SEND Teaching Assistant Location: Runcorn Start Date: September 2024 Contract: Full-time, Long-term Hours: Monday to Friday Axcis are seeking a compassionate and dedicated 1:1 SEND Teaching Assistant to join a Key Stage 1 (KS1) team. This full-time, long-term position involves working closely with a child who has special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), ensuring they receive the tailored support required to thrive in a mainstream classroom setting. Responsibilities: • Provide 1:1 support to a KS1 student with SEND. • Assist in the implementation of individualised education plans (IEPs). • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment. • Support the student in accessing the curriculum and engaging in classroom activities. • Work collaboratively with the class teacher and SENCO to monitor and assess the student’s progress. • Help with personal care and mobility if required. • Encourage social integration and build the student's confidence and independence. • Maintain accurate records of the student’s progress and development. Requirements: • Experience working with children with SEND, preferably in an educational setting. • A patient, empathetic, and nurturing approach. • Strong communication and interpersonal skills. • Ability to work effectively as part of a team. • Relevant qualifications in childcare or education are desirable but not essential. • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
