Job Title: SEMH Support Worker Location: Scunthorpe Salary: £88.94 - £104.84 per day (depending on experience) Start Date: After Easter 2025 Contract Type: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time GSL Education are seeking a compassionate and reliable SEMH Support Worker to join a welcoming school in Scunthorpe. In this role, you will provide essential support to students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, helping them thrive both academically and personally. As an SEMH Support Worker, you will work alongside teachers and pastoral staff to offer tailored support to students facing social and emotional challenges. Your role is vital in helping students stay engaged in learning, build resilience, and develop positive behaviours and relationships. What You Will Do: Provide one-to-one or small group support to students with SEMH needs. Help implement personalised strategies to support emotional regulation and positive behaviour. Build trusting relationships that create a safe space for students to express themselves. Assist teachers in adapting classroom activities to support individual needs. Promote an inclusive, respectful, and calm classroom environment. Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teaching and pastoral teams. What’s Needed for This Role: Previous experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs, ideally in a school or similar setting. A genuine passion for supporting students with social, emotional, and mental health challenges. Patience, resilience, and the ability to build positive relationships. Strong communication and teamwork skills. A CV covering the last ten years (with no unexplained gaps). An enhanced DBS registered on the update service (or willingness to apply for one).
