The MBE Programme presents a huge opportunity for colleagues across the technology function to play a central role in the design, shape, delivery and execution of an enterprise wide digital transformation programme. The complexity of the initiative, within a FTSE 250 business, will allow for large-scale problem solving, group wide impact assessment and supporting the delivery of an enablement project to future proof the business.
As the Enterprise Data Architect, you will define and govern Greencore's conceptual and canonical data models, ensuring alignment between strategy, business requirements, data governance, and technology delivery. Positioned within the Transformation Office, this role bridges business functions, data governance, and IT to drive value from data across the enterprise.
What you'll be doing:
Develop and maintain enterprise data architecture and models, aligning with business and IT strategies
Ensure data architecture supports transformation objectives, business goals, and regulatory requirements
Advocate for data as a key enabler of decision-making and operational efficiency
Share best practices and integrate new source systems into the enterprise architecture
Align ERP system data processes with governance and analytics requirements
Guide teams in implementing data governance frameworks
Design and manage scalable, secure, and efficient cloud data architectures
Engage with senior management and business leaders to ensure data architecture meets current and future needs
Act as a data strategy champion and build awareness of governance and data-driven processes
Collaborate with architects, developers, and analysts for cohesive solutions
Facilitate workshops and meetings for architectural decisions
Maintain documentation and report progress to transformation leaders and governance boards
Provide training and support for new data systems
Develop guidelines for embedding canonical standards
Communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
Act as a bridge between IT, business units, and third-party vendors
What you'll need:
8+ years in roles such as Enterprise Data Architect, Data Strategy Lead, or similar
Proven experience in designing and implementing canonical data models
Demonstrated success in driving data governance in large-scale transformation programmes
Experience integrating legacy systems into cloud-based platforms, particularly during major IT transitions
Comprehensive understanding of data architecture frameworks and canonical modelling principles
Expertise in data governance practices, including metadata management, data lineage, and regulatory compliance
Familiarity with B2B food manufacturing industry processes, particularly supply chain and production data requirements
Working knowledge of cloud technologies, especially Microsoft Azure services (e.g., Fabric, Azure Data Lake, Synapse, Power BI)
Strategic thinking with the ability to translate business goals into actionable data strategies
Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, enabling collaboration across business and IT
Ability to advocate for and embed governance practices in diverse organisational contexts
Strong analytical skills to address complex data challenges and enforce standards
