About the Role
We are seeking an accomplished Lead HV Safety System Engineer to join our team at JLR. You will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining functional safety solutions through best-practice engineering.
Your mission is to work closely with engineering, quality, and regulatory teams to ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and regulations, including ISO26262. As part of the Functional Safety and Control Design Chapter, you will develop the company's strategy for processes, components, and systems for the control system specialism.
This is an impactful role, offering the opportunity to lead our technical teams in the development of our new generation of electric vehicles.
Key Responsibilities
* Design and deliver Charging/Battery Management ECU Part 4 Technical Safety Concepts, including hardware and software safety requirements, within the Functional Safety and ASPICE framework
* Create system architecture diagrams for components, illustrating interfaces using MBSE tools such as IBM Rhapsody and Dassault MSOSA
* Collaborate with team members and cross-functional teams to support the overall safety plan, while providing technical mentorship to functional safety design engineers
* Contribute to the development of standardized Functional Safety and ASPICE processes, conduct audits of safety products, and manage technical risks with mitigation plans
* Liaise with key suppliers as a 'matched pair' for software, ensuring correctness through peer reviews of Functional Safety analysis, architecture, requirements, and the development of verification/validation strategies
About You
* You have successfully delivered technical safety concepts from inception to production in complex control system products, demonstrating a results-driven approach with tenacity and perseverance in demanding environments
* You have applied ISO 26262 Parts 3, 4, 5, and 6, along with equivalent industry standards such as IEC 61508
* You have conducted audits and assessments of supplier functional safety work products to ensure compliance and quality
* You have utilised industry-standard tools for system safety analysis and requirements management, including Medini, ISO Graph Reliability Workbench, MSOSA, TRM, and DOORS
* You have experience with High Voltage (HV) Energy Storage Systems and Power Electronics
