Anglo Skills College is a higher education training provider and is a rapidly growing college. We are exploring a new course in Computing and Cyber Security and are looking to take on IT/Computer Science tutors, with high expertise, experience, and delivery of the Pearson BTEC HND course. The candidate must have teaching and delivery experience in the following computing courses and areas:
* Programming
* Networking
* Database Design
* Security
* Planning a Computing Project
* Software Development Lifecycle
* Maths for Computing
* Website Design and Development
The candidate must have a master’s level degree or above qualification in the applied field, with teaching and assessment qualification, a minimum of 2 years’ experience in UK Higher Education institutions. Assessor award (A1) and verification award (V1) is preferred; however, not essential. A fully vetted Enhanced DBS Certificate is required.
What We Are Looking For:
We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated individual who is passionate about teaching and assessment, delivering the HND courses. Tutors should have previous experience of teaching a similar course in other UK institutions. We expect the tutors to be familiar with the Pearson assignment brief, assessment process, and internal quality assurance process of the BTEC courses.
Your Responsibilities:
* Keep up to date with current trends in the IT industry, including industry standards and practical software development, to design and develop comprehensive lesson plans and teaching models.
* Engage students through delivering lectures, practical sessions, and workshops, informing them on how to excel in programming, networking, cybersecurity, and database management.
* Support student needs and handle inquiries, working alongside the academic manager, senior management, and pastoral team to address any complaints from students.
* Regularly assess students’ progress through assignments, exams, and practical assessments, providing timely and constructive feedback to help them improve their understanding and performance.
* Attend open day events and provide course inductions during these events. Follow college policies and safeguarding protocols; flexibility and the ability to take on multiple roles are required.
* Monitor and maintain accurate records of student attendance, performance, and achievements for reporting and administrative purposes. Understand marking assignments to provide feedback on formative and summative assessments. Develop lesson plans, maintain student progress, and report to the academic manager and IQA team.
