Overview -
Our client are the distributors and support network for automated haematology and coagulation diagnostic analysers, reagents and information systems for laboratories and healthcare facilities within the UK and Ireland. They are a world leader in systematisation, providing solutions to streamline and improve the workflow of the busiest laboratories. In addition to instrumentation, the company develops many different reagents essential for diagnostic testing. Core expertise in haematology, haemostasis, systemisation, and reagent development is the driving force behind their global business activities and has been the basis of a steady expansion into the UK's growing point of care testing market.
Responsibilities -
This is a national role, travel in the UK and Ireland will be required. with pre-builds being completed at the Milton Keynes head office
* Complete pre-builds as per company standards at Milton Keynes site in-line with Prebuild Process.
* Ensure all equipment is ready and packed safely and securely ready for despatch to site.
* Installation of equipment at customer site in line with regulatory and site requirements.
* Liaise with customer to ensure that the equipment is working to expectations and working in line with the project outline.
* Report to Technical Installation Manager on outcome of installation.
* Support with Planned Maintenance Inspections (PMI's).
* Support with completing Field Corrective Actions (FCA's).
* Support with Engineer Change Records (ECR's).
* To achieve Company KPI's of Car Stock accuracy.
* To achieve Company KPI's of implementation of ECR's and Technical Bulletins
* NIE's must ensure that they introduce themselves to the senior member of laboratory staff at the start of each site visit.
* Customer must be periodically kept informed of any changes to estimated completion time.
* At completion of the call the senior member of laboratory staff must be consulted. They must be supplied with all information regarding actions taken, and exact details of any required follow visits including their call log number.
* You should communicate with your Technical Installation Manager as required to keep abreast of activity in your team
* SUK encourage communication between NIE's and sales personnel so as to be aware of potential sales activity in your area; however, your ITL should be aware of this
* Training at SUK:
* Install and build training to be completed at Milton Keynes SUK building
* Buddy training will be carried out during install and build operation until you are signed off as competent.
* This involves spending time with more experienced FSE's and will normally take place during the early stages of your time at SUK. This allows you to gain familiarity with the instrumentation, a basic understanding of operation, knowledge of working practices, site locations and key personnel.
* Training at SUK is usually instrument specific however applications training may also be given.
* You may be required to stay over in Milton Keynes dependent upon location; in this case hotels will be arranged for you.
* Training is certified and you will be required to pass an "end test" upon completion of the training to assess both your competence and understanding of the training given.
* Training at Sysmex Europe Germany (SEG)
* All SEG training will usually take place in Hamburg; however other locations within Europe will be used dependent upon the type of instrument being trained on
* SUK will receive a report on trainee participation and competence follow conclusion of the training.
* SUK employees must remember that they must behave in a manner that does not compromise the integrity of SUK at all times whilst overseas on training.
* Actively update your own continuous professional development training log
* Ensure Service Administration is kept informed of revised ETA and completion times
Person Specification
* Flexible to attend training in the UK as well as Europe as required
* Level 3 qualification in electrical engineering or equivalent
* HND (HNC with relevant experience) or equivalent in electronic and mechanical engineering
* Good understanding of mechanical engineering for carrying out instrument builds
* Understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic principle
* Technical training on Haematology related instrumentation (desirable)
* Exceptional technical fault-finding skills
* The ability to read and understand technical diagrams
* Customer focused - should strive to exceed customer requirements
* Good and effective written and verbal communicator
* Good working knowledge in MS Windows
* General knowledge in MS Office products, Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
* Must hold a full driving licence
