Main duties of the job
An opportunity has arisen to join this well established, friendly, hardworking team of over 60 Radiographers working within the Cross-Sectional Imaging Department at the Trust. Due to continued service expansion we are seeking enthusiastic, talented Band 5 radiographers who would like to progress to a Band 6 role in Cross-sectional Imaging. We would help the right candidate to develop their skills with appropriate support to become competent in CT, MRI and Neuro Interventional Angiography. We will ensure all competencies are met prior to working as a specialist Radiographer.
Job responsibilities
The successful post holder will develop to become a key member of the Cross-sectional team with a high level of competence in specialist modalities of MRI, CT scanning and Neuro Interventional Angiography. You will be working on the Southampton General site and as part of a rotation off site in the Southampton city area CT scanning as part of the targeted lung health check screening service and our Community Diagnostic Centre at Royal South Hants. Our supportive team of Superintendents and Radiologists lead our Imaging services with an open and inclusive approach.

Qualifications, knowledge, and experience
* Previous imaging experience within specialist area
* Degree in Diagnostic Radiography or equivalent qualification
* Current HCPC registration or pending within 6 months
* Evidence of personal and professional development
* Sound knowledge of all areas of Governance including H&S, COSHH, Manual Handling and MHRA
* Ability to understand, interpret and communicate complex information
* Evidence of teamwork
* Capable of attaining relevant specialist competencies within agreed timeframe
* Post graduate certificate or relevant experience in an area of clinical specialism and/or management
* Experience of teaching, mentoring, or supporting colleagues training and development
* Experience working in the NHS
* Evidence of audit and R&D
* Evidence of leadership experience

Salary: £29,970 to £36,483 a year (PA) Pro rata
