With the exam period fast approaching, secondary schools across the Portsmouth area are seeking experienced and reliable Exam Invigilators to join their teams during the exam periods. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a vital role in supporting students during a critical time in their education.
As an Exam Invigilator, you will be responsible for ensuring that examinations are conducted in line with regulatory requirements and maintaining a calm and supportive environment for students.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Supervise the conduct of students during examinations to ensure compliance with examination regulations.
2. Distribute and collect exam materials, ensuring security and confidentiality at all times.
3. Assist with the seating of students and ensure they understand the examination rules.
4. Provide instructions clearly and confidently at the start and end of each exam.
5. Maintain the integrity of the examination environment, dealing promptly with any irregularities.
6. Monitor students throughout the exam, ensuring they remain focused and follow all guidelines.
7. Assist with administrative tasks related to the examination process, such as logging attendance.
The successful candidate will:
1. Have prior experience as an Exam Invigilator or a similar role (preferred but not essential).
2. Possess excellent communication skills to convey instructions clearly and effectively.
3. Be confident and assertive, with the ability to handle challenging situations professionally.
4. Be highly organised, punctual, and attentive to detail.
5. Demonstrate flexibility in their schedule to accommodate exam timetables.
6. Be committed to upholding the highest standards of integrity and confidentiality.
