As a member of the Cromwell Finance Team, you will be responsible for Business Partnering several key operational hospital departments. This will involve working with the Heads of Department to understand the monthly results and performance compared to plan and previous trends; providing information and analysis to support decision making and drive corrective action, along with producing the 3-year plan for those departments.
How you’ll help us make health happen
1. Be the trusted finance advisor to several key operational departments and divisional managers in the Hospital by building relationships with the heads of department and providing support in monitoring/understanding departmental revenue & cost trends along with forecast performance against plan.
2. Ensuring the heads of department understand and are able to explain their monthly results at the Executive KPI meeting.
3. Delivering appropriate challenge on spend / decisions. Provision of information and analysis to drive corrective action where relevant.
4. Responding to queries and identifying opportunities for improvement in processes and reporting.
5. Building the financial case for capital investment requests of the departments.
6. Production of ad hoc financial analysis and business intelligence to help drive the profitability of the Hospital.
7. Leading the 3-Yr plan process for respective departments, ensuring these are robust and aligned to the strategy. Recommending options to streamline the plan process where possible.
Key Skills/Qualifications needed for this role
1. Part-qualified or near completion of recognised Accountancy Qualification.
2. Previous experience in a Finance business partnering role is essential with a background within a healthcare environment being preferred.
3. Highly competent in Excel and Power Point. Knowledge of Oracle, Peoplesoft and Compucare would be desirable but not essential.
4. Experience in assisting with business cases, investment appraisals and modelling is desirable.
5. Experience in producing outputs for senior Management and Executive teams, including the ability to draw out and summarise key messages.
6. Strong organisation, time management and stakeholder management skills.
7. An understanding of key Hospital business drivers and operations is desirable.
