Managing Quantity Surveyor - Birmingham
Daniel Owen is looking for a Managing Quantity Surveyor to join a the new regional office of a growing construction company specialising in commercial and residential, fit-out, refurbishment and build projects. Their portfolio includes large-scale office developments, high-end residential buildings, and state-of-the-art infrastructure solutions. Location: Birmingham City Centre - Travel will be required

Salary: 80,000 per annum + Package

Role Overview:
As a Managing Quantity Surveyor, you will oversee the commercial and financial management of varied construction projects. You will be responsible for ensuring cost efficiency, contract compliance, and commercial success while leading a team of Quantity Surveyors. This role is key to driving profitability, managing risks, and maintaining strong client and subcontractor relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the commercial team and oversee all aspects of quantity surveying.
Manage budgets, costs, and financial forecasting for projects.
Ensure compliance with contractual and legal obligations.
Lead procurement and tendering processes.
Develop strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.
Oversee valuations, variations, and final accounts.
Provide strategic commercial advice to senior management.
Ensure projects are delivered within budget and on time.
Implement risk management strategies to mitigate financial exposure.
Requirements:
Degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field
Proven experience as a Managing Quantity Surveyor / Commercial Manager in the construction industry.
Experience of using COINS is a necessity
Experience overseeing multiple, varied projects at one time.
