Were working with a local council& seeking a Waste Project Manager on a contract basis to join their team in the East Midlands. This is an exciting opportunity to lead and manage projects aimed at the harmonisation and development of waste services.
Key Responsibilities:
Report to the Head of Waste, managing service programmes, projects and initiatives of various sizes and levels of complexity.
Promote clear and visible leadership in a project management environment.
Manage multiple service projects ensuring utilisation of standard project management methodologies.
Monitor relevant project budgets, in accordance with council procedures.
Establish effective lines of communication and build working relationships across multi-disciplinary teams.
Encourage and lead smarter working initiatives, promoting the use of technology to maximise productivity and service delivery.
Provide project management expertise for the development and management of project plans within waste services.
Develop action plans and project timelines, adapting as required in a continually changing environment.
Act as the key project liaison between the waste services team and a range of stakeholders.
Ensure projects have clear objectives, monitor progress, and develop reports.
Develop and maintain a broad knowledge of waste management services.
Deputise for the Head of Waste at various meetings and working groups when requested.
Develop project monitoring regimes and report on progress against key milestones.
Job Requirements:
Minimum of 5 GCSEs or equivalent including Maths and English.
APM Project Management Qualification and/or Prince2 Practitioner with significant experience in managing complex projects through the full lifecycle.
APM Introductory Certificate PFQ and/or Prince2 Foundation level with exceptional experience in managing complex projects.
Management Level 3.
Experience in programme and project level planning and people management including building rapport, motivation, and conflict resolution.
Proven experience of implementing business change and pursuing continuous improvement initiatives.
Experience in managing large, complex programmes and projects through the full lifecycle.
Experience in financial planning and monitoring, including resource allocation.
Experience in risk management and responding to issues affecting change initiatives.
Proficiency in quality management processes for change initiative activities and outputs.
Experience in partnership working with internal and external partners.
Experience in advising local members and senior Officers on specialist areas of responsibility.
