B1 Licensed Aircraft Engineer 4 on 4 off, 40 hours per week Late shift Permanent,London Luton Airport THE ROLE The Engineer will be actively involved in line and base maintenance activities at our Luton base, as required in accordance with company procedures and under Part 145, and as delegated by the Supervisors and Senior Managers. As part of a wider team, the Engineer will carry out and certify aircraft maintenance within the limits of their approval maintaining the standards of aircraft maintenance; is responsible for overseeing the work on aircraft by our Mechanics and non certifying engineers, ensuring this is carried out in a safe and correct manner to company procedures and standards. Will have a pro-active and flexible approach and will at times be expected to work on their own and make maintenance decisions in line with the approvals. Occasional working away from base may be required. The post is a hand’s on role and will require that the incumbent actively takes part in the aircraft maintenance. Due to the nature of Corporate / Private Aviation, the engineer will ensure that any enquiries from customers / crew are dealt with professionally ensuring that these are managed through to completion, providing regular feedback acting when necessary as first point of contact. HOURS OF WORK The Luton base operates 24 hours per day, 7 days per week, 365 days per year – as a result, the successful applicant must be flexible and professional. You will be required to work as part of a team covering a 24-hour operation, which will include working days, lates, weekends and bank holidays. This will normally be a 4 on 4 off shift pattern, however flexibility will be required due to the possibility of occasional lone working or workload, in which case actual shift times may be varied. Initial training will require a period working Monday to Friday and will also include a period of working day shifts (07:00 – 19:00) before going live on the late shift. THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE The responsibilities of this role demand that the jobholder holds a full UK Part-66 B1 License, a copy of which must be provided at the time of application. The successful candidate will hold two of the following type ratings: Bombardier Challenger 300/350; 604/605 and / or Global Series type aircraft. Consideration will be made with one type, pending additional relevant corporate experience. Further type training may be provided for the successful candidate as required in line with the business needs. The successful candidate will be required to demonstrate currency with regard to certification of maintenance and must have current up to date Human Factors training. Good computer skills (Microsoft packages, general working knowledge of systems) are a requirement. Sheet metal experience would also be beneficial but is not essential as this is primarily a mechanical role. Applicants should have an organised, adaptable and flexible approach with strong interpersonal skills and a diplomatic approach. You will be enthusiastic, willing to learn and maintain a professional appearance and manner even in sometimes difficult circumstances. The ability to prioritise in an ever changing environment, remain calm and adapt under pressure are essential for the role. Excellent communication skills combined with courtesy and integrity are also important. Good administration skills and computer literacy are essential. The role may be required to provide support at both locations therefore a full UK driving license is essential, as is holding the right to live and work in the UK. You will also need to have a 5 year checkable history in order to obtain an airport ID pass
