Job summary We have a brilliant secondment opportunity for an Occupational Therapist to lead a project in partnership with the East Riding of Yorkshire Health and Care Partnership. The post is funded by the Better Care Fund for 12 months to support best practice and enhance care in care homes, with a focus on manual handling. The aims of the project are to support with and review current moving and handling practice, and collaborate on plans to improve the manual handling in care home settings by embedding safe best practice principles; to support the reduction of falls and enhance care by individualised assessment. Main duties of the job The post holder will work closely with the care home provider group and care home commissioners. The project has an assigned budget to utilise, to enhance equipment access and support transfers of care and establish via proof of concepts and a shared approach to manual handling across health, social care and the care sector. There will be an opportunity to shape the project and put your own stamp on it. You will need to have excellent communication and engagement skills to work with key partners to coproduce and deliver a range of training, as well as working directly with care home managers and staff. The successful candidate will utilise project management and data analysis skills to evidence outcomes.
