The Electoral Commission have an exciting opportunity for a Regional Manager to join their team Directorate: Electoral Administration and Guidance Contract: Permanent, Full Time Salary: £57,230 (Outside of London) Location: Birmingham, permanently based at home Who We Are: The Electoral Commission is the independent body that regulates party and election finance, sets standards for well-run elections and encourages people to register to vote. The Electoral Administration and Guidance Directorate is responsible for the provision of guidance and support to Electoral administrators to enable them to provide excellent electoral and registration services. The English Regional Teams undertake this work across England. Regional Manager - The Role: The Regional Manager - North/Midlands is responsible for delivering the Commissions priorities in either the Northeast and Northwest of England and Yorkshire and the Humber regions, or the West and East Midlands regions, through the ongoing provision of advice, support and challenge to local authorities in the delivery of electoral and registration services. The role will require regular travel within the relevant regions. Regional Manager - Key Responsibilities: The post-holder will be responsible for developing and maintaining a comprehensive understanding of the nature of their regions and the challenges faced by the relevant local authorities. This will assist and enhance the risk-based approach to performance monitoring and support against the performance standards and will enable the Commission to better challenge them to meet the standards. Both Regional Manager Roles lead one Regional Liaison Officer who supports this work. The successful candidate will need to develop and maintain effective relationships with key external stakeholders, including Electoral Registration Officers and Returning Officers and local authority chief executives.
