Part Time Role – 48 hours per fortnight
The Opportunity
Lake Macquarie Private Hospital Clinical Trials Unit is seeking a Clinical Trials Coordinator. The successful individual will be a part of a small team and will assume responsibility for the day-to-day management of a clinical trial portfolio at the Hospital. The Clinical Trials Unit currently undertakes a range of trials in the disciplines of oncology and cardiology, with the expectation that the unit will continue to expand and offer services to other clinical disciplines within the Hospital.
Reporting to the Clinical Trials and Research Manager, the successful applicant will be responsible for managing the day-to-day activities of the clinical trials that they have been assigned. These activities will include active patient visits, management of any AEs and SAEs associated with the trial, data entry, response to sponsor queries, and management of ethics and governance activities associated with the study. The role is dynamic and challenging and presents an opportunity to work with a highly engaged group of doctors. In this role, you will have the opportunity to make a significant contribution to the development of a leading clinical trials unit and the broader Ramsay Clinical Trials Network.
Skills and Experience
To be successful in this role, you will bring the following skills and experience:
* We are seeking a Registered Nurse or a Science Graduate for this role.
* Demonstrated understanding of clinical trials methodology and knowledge of Good Clinical Practice (ICH-GCP) requirements.
* Experience working with busy clinicians and an understanding of how to effectively manage and work within a fast-paced, rapidly changing, and dynamic environment.
* Proven ability to establish relationships, influence, and work in partnership with stakeholders and employees at all levels.
* Demonstrated high-level oral and written communication skills and demonstrated ability to manage time effectively.
* Demonstrated high-level conceptual and analytical skills and the capacity to show initiative, to develop solutions, and ensure that each research project is successful.
* Experience in a research or clinical environment, including experience in the conduct and coordination of clinical trials is desirable.
* Understanding of human research ethics and research governance within Australia is desirable.

* Must provide a National Police Check conducted within the previous 12 months.
