VANRATH are recruiting a Project Manager to work for a leading Building Contractor, based in Newry, Northern Ireland.
Remuneration: £55,000 - £60,000 + package
About The Role:
Leading a multidiscipline Design & Build team, the Project Manager will be responsible for managing the design and site teams' performance, ensuring they are in line with the contract requirements. The successful candidate will maintain oversight of all project activities, identify any issues, and ensure these are resolved promptly. This exciting role will involve the delivery of low carbon buildings and unique projects.
Responsibilities:
* Weekly site audits
* Regular review meetings with contractors
* Communicate to site managers/supervisors and subcontractors
* Ensure projects meet regulatory requirements
* Ensure a high level of service is delivered to the customer
* Ensure general housekeeping standards are maintained at all times
* Carry out practical completion/pre-snag audits
* Manage and control costs
* Maintain regular, consistent, professional relationships with clients, subcontractors, and internal personnel
* Follow and comply with all policies and procedures
* Manage, coordinate, and prioritize workload to ensure delivery of service at a high qualitative level for clients and stakeholders in line with agreed programmes/deadlines
* Monitor consultant and contractor performance including payment authorization in accordance with the delegated authority guide
* Prepare cashflow forecasts
* Implement and monitor relevant project control and administration systems
* Report project progress and risks to client and management
* Prepare site assessments, due diligence reports, cost reports, project control reports, construction reports, and completion reports
* Manage design development, coordination, reviews, and approvals during planning and construction phases
* Follow and fully comply with the client's end-to-end project management process
* Supervise contractors in scheduling and monitoring project work and inspection upon completion
* Prepare monthly project review reports
Health & Safety:
* Adhere to all health & safety regulations and company policy at all times
* Report any accidents or issues regarding health & safety appropriately
* Ensure all Risk Assessments & safe systems of work are read, understood, signed, and followed
The Ideal Person:
* Recognised Construction Qualification (BSc/HNC/HND)
* Valid CSR Card or formal Health and Safety Training
* Full UK Driving License
* 5 years' experience in the construction industry
* Demonstrable NEC forms of contract experience
* Demonstrable experience working with Contract Management Platforms
* High proficiency working with Microsoft Office applications
* Delivery of Projects for Public Sector Clients
* Demonstrable experience of leading the delivery of projects with a construction value exceeding £10 million
* Significant experience in the management of projects which included Design
* Understand construction measurement principles
* Good client-facing and communication skills
* A team player with a 'can-do' attitude, outgoing, polite, patient, diplomatic, personable, respectful, and flexible
* Demonstrate ability to follow written and verbal directions
* Demonstrate a flexible attitude towards assigned tasks
* Be reliable & committed
* Participate in overtime when required (including weekends)

* Well-organised, diligent, proactive, assertive, self-starting, well-disciplined, and commercially astute
* Good technical writing skills and knowledge of reading drawings and tender documents
* Demonstrate ability to implement and meet targets
