Position Overview
My client is seeking a dynamic and experienced Procurement Manager to join their team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in both short-term purchasing and long-term procurement strategy to ensure the business remains as profitable as possible. They will be responsible for negotiating costs, contracts, and services, while managing three junior members in the procurement team. This role is crucial for the business as they are experiencing sustained growth and have recently secured the largest order in the business’s history.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and implement procurement strategies to maximize business profitability.
* Manage all aspects of procurement including purchasing, contract negotiation, and supplier relationships.
* Lead and mentor a team of three junior procurement members, providing guidance and support.
* Analyse market trends and supplier performance to ensure the best value for the business.
* Collaborate with other departments to align procurement strategies with company goals.
* Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations in procurement processes.
* Prepare and present regular reports on procurement activities and outcomes.
Qualifications and Experience
* Proven experience in procurement management, preferably within manufacturing or engineering sectors.
* Strong people management skills
* Strong negotiation skills with the ability to build and maintain effective supplier relationships.
* Excellent leadership and team management skills.

Salary and Benefits
The position offers a competitive salary ranging from £55,000 to £60,000, along with a healthy profit-related annual bonus
