BMW, National Sales Company, Farnborough – Internal Communications Assistant - 13 Month Placement (July 2025)
Communication to our employees and key stakeholders is central to our success and covers a vast array of topics, from product news and sustainability to corporate announcements and CSR. We are looking for a creative and enthusiastic intern to join the Internal Communications team within Corporate Communications, the department responsible for protecting, building and promoting the image of the BMW Group and its products in the UK. This placement offers a fantastic opportunity to develop your career in communications, working for the world’s leading premium automotive manufacturer.
What awaits you?
You’ll be supporting the team in a variety of ways including (but not limited to):
5. Developing engaging content for our various internal communication channels, including email, intranet, digital signage, and employee app.
6. Working with a wide variety of stakeholders to write and edit articles that effectively communicate important information to employees in a consistent tone of voice.
7. Creating visual assets like infographics, videos, and presentations to enhance the impact of our internal communications.
8. Using a variety of internal software systems to plan and publish content.
9. Supporting with the planning and execution of events, from all staff town halls to charity social events.
Qualifications & Skills:
10. Studying towards a Bachelor’s degree, with a predicted grade of 2:1 or higher in a relevant field such as (but not limited to): PR, Communications, Business Studies or Marketing.
11. Relevant work experience is expected – we'd like to see a genuine interest in the field of communications, whether it’s public relations or event management. It does not need to have been particularly lengthy – two weeks in the summer holidays at a local PR agency, managing social media accounts or editing the school news website / newsletters are worth mentioning! We want to see initiative and drive – if you’re studying for a communications-related degree (which is not a requirement), tell us more than just what you're studying.
12. Fluent written English. A passion for writing and an eye for detail are important must-haves.
13. Excellent communication skills – whether in person, on the phone or written - are essential.
14. Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools (e.g., Word, PowerPoint) is required.
