Job Summary
We areseeking a Linear Programming (LP) Engineer with expertise inrefinery optimization and economics to join our OperationEngineering Solutions Department (OESD). OESD a part of GlobalManufacturing provides specialized operations and processengineering support to all process technologies within This CompanyGlobal Manufacturing including both whollyowned and affiliaterefining and chemicals facilities.
OESD plays acrucial role in optimizing crude allocation and operations acrossglobal manufacturing facilities to maximize revenue increaseprofitability and capitalize on international market opportunities.Additionally OESD supports the LP gatekeeper function for whollyowned refineries and manages the global MPIMS model. The departmentalso maintains an integrated global planning model used forexploring new markets and integration options.
As a Linear Programming (LP) Engineer within OESD yourresponsibilities will include developing updating and running LPmodels for both existing and new refineries. You will conductrigorous simulations and backcasting perform technical and economicevaluations of projects and opportunities and provide technicaladvisory support to refinery management and staff. Your role willbe instrumental in enhancing operational efficiency strategicdecisionmaking and optimizing the economic performance of refiningoperations.
KeyResponsibilities:
* Develop update and run LP models for existing and newrefineries using PIMS software to optimize operation andconfiguration for maximizing net cash margin.
* Identify margin improvement opportunities through LPmodels and conduct economic evaluations using NPV IRR and otherfinancial metrics.
* Use Aspen HYSYS softwarefor rigorous simulation and backcasting to compare with actualrefinery performance analyzing gaps and proposing correctiveactions.
* Support technical and economicevaluation of projects from screening through closure prioritizingagainst investment criteria and downstream strategy.
* Provide technical advisory support to refinery managementon LP and optimization matters including crude selection productslate and operational constraints.
* Coordinatewith refinery engineers planners schedulers and marketers to alignLP models and objectives.
* Validate andcalibrate LP models using historical data and refinery test runsensuring accuracy under current and future operatingconditions.
* Document model changes and updatescommunicating them to stakeholders and supporting global MPIMSmodel development.
* Maintain quality andconsistency of LP models and data in LP gatekeeping processes forrefineries and global MPIMS model.
* Conducttraining sessions for refinery LP engineers and users sharing bestpractices and updating the LP manual.
Requirements:
* Willingness to relocate toDhahran Saudi Arabia.
* Hold aBachelors degree in Chemical or Environmental Engineering from arecognized program; an advanced degree is preferred.
* Have a minimum of 17 years of experience in the Oil &Gas Industry specifically in refining and petrochemical sectorswith expertise in LP modeling optimization andeconomics.
* Proficient in PIMS and Aspen HYSYSsoftware along with other relevant tools and standards.
* Demonstrate excellent technical analytical problemsolvingcommunication and teamwork skills. Capable of applying knowledge tovarious LP and optimization challenges and effectivelycommunicating with stakeholders.
* Thoroughunderstanding of refining processes and economics as well as globalcrude and product markets and trends.
* Experience in developing and running LP models forcomplex integrated refineries including scenario analysis andsensitivity studies.
* Ability to workindependently and collaboratively in a fastpaced dynamicenvironment managing multiple projects and taskssimultaneously.
* Strong presentation andreporting skills capable of communicating complex technicalinformation clearly and concisely.
