Mechanical Project Manager sought in central Cornwall
We are working with a highly regarded Tier 1 UK contractor, prioritising efficiency, quality and compliance as they replace and refurbish large, technical commercial units at a site located in mid-Cornwall. At present, our client is seeking a Mechanical Project Manager to lead a team of Mechanical Supervisors and subcontracted engineers for 3 years.
Ideally seeking somebody with strong HVAC and mechanical services experience; SC Clearance is required, however, we are open to discussions with those holding equivalent M&E construction experience, authority, and qualifications.

Daily Duties of a Mechanical Project Manager:
1. Take accountability for the project Health & Safety including toolbox talks/site audits and ensuring all aspects of the site are carried out in line with current legislation.
2. Hold responsibility for expenditure on projects allocated.
3. Collaborate with the client’s respective management teams and stakeholders and liaise with the supply chain.
4. Ensure all customer requests are acknowledged and contractual obligations are met.
5. Ensure sufficient installation labour is sourced to meet the project requirements.
6. Ensure all projects are closed within the timelines agreed.
7. Be a thorough and confident leader of people, skilled and experienced enough to lead the mechanical team of trained professionals.
What you’ll need to succeed as a Mechanical Project Manager:
1. Experience of managing a project team to reach completion within budget and to programme.
2. Ability to interpret the requirements of the specification.
3. Experience of managing procurement, labour, and sub-contractors.
4. Experience of stakeholder engagement and management.
5. Experience of controlling contract costs and variations.
6. Experience of co-ordinating M&E Services installations.
7. Experience of all health and safety requirements during the contract including compiling method statements and risk assessments.
8. Compilation and presentation of Operating & Maintenance Manuals.
9. Experience of managing contract values ranging from £2m and above.
10. BTEC: HNC or ONC in Building Services - Required.
11. IOSH directing safely - Desirable.
12. CSCS card - Required.
13. SMSTS - Desirable.
