The department of Neurology are looking to appoint a LAS ST Higher (SCF level) doctor for a fixed term period of 12 months. The posts will commence on 5th February 2025 until 3rd February 2026 to cover a training grade vacancy.
The successful candidates will work together with the wider clinical team of Consultants, Advanced Nurse Practitioners, Junior Doctors and other Allied Health Professionals to provide high quality, safe and effective clinical care. Working as part of the multi-disciplinary team. Applicants must hold Full GMC registration with a licence to practise or show evidence that it will be issued by start date. We are not able to sponsor candidates for GMC registration.
Main duties of the job
Even though the posts will not be recognised for training the successful candidates will have the opportunity to attend teaching and participate in audit, quality improvement and research projects where possible similar to the Wales Deanery Trainees. The successful candidates will also have dedicated educational supervisor. These posts will participate on the Neurology on call rota and have similar responsibilities to the training grades. There is a study leave budget available and associated funding will be considered by the Medical Director Office and approved for educational opportunities.

* MBBS or equivalent medical qualification

* MRCP(UK) Part 1 at time of application and MRCP(UK) full diploma by offer date
* Eligibility for the specialist register in general internal medicine by time of application
* Completion of Irish Basic Specialty Training in medicine and the MRCPI full diploma by offer date
