We are looking for an inspirational and highly skilled upper strings teacher to join the teaching team of this well-established Music Service. This could be in a full-time or part-time capacity.

Redbridge Music Service enjoys a reputation for high-quality music education. Our pupils present over 50 concerts per year, and we are looking forward to our 25th Redbridge Schools’ Choral Festival at the Royal Albert Hall in March 2025. Concert venues have included the Barbican, St John’s Smith Square, Royal Festival Hall, and Buckingham Palace. Collaboration includes supporting shows at the Kenneth More Theatre, working with colleagues at the Redbridge Drama Centre, also operated by Vision RCL.
String teaching at RMS includes individual and small group teaching, Whole Class Ensemble Tuition in primary schools, and ensemble opportunities at the Music School to cater for absolute beginners through to the Symphony Orchestra. There is also a folk fiddle ensemble and opportunities for chamber music.
The successful candidate will also have the opportunity to apply for a “Music Development Lead” post with responsibility for coordinating string activity and chamber music across the service. This post attracts additional remuneration and weekly development time.

Job requirements:
1. To be a member of the teaching team and contribute to the development of the Music Service within the London Borough of Redbridge.
2. Provide excellent teaching and continuity of service.
3. Be part of a team that works together in the development of the music equality, diversity, and inclusion strategy, widening and ensuring access to a breadth of quality music and providing better outcomes for our students and communities.
4. Option to perform as part of a recital team that visits schools across Redbridge on a Wednesday afternoon.
5. To teach and direct ensembles according to your specialism in schools and at the Music Centre, demonstrating outstanding teaching.
6. Enhanced DBS checks will be undertaken as part of the recruitment process. It will be necessary to request references before being invited to interview as part of safer recruitment. Successful applicants will be placed on a salary scale according to their experience and qualifications.
