Safran Landing Systems is the world leader in aircraft landing and braking systems and is at the forefront of contributing to safer, more sustainable aviation for current and future generations. We design, test, manufacture and assemble landing gear used on commercial aircraft including Airbus and Boeing, and UK military aircraft such as the Eurofighter Typhoon. Gloucester is home to the UK division and has been a leader of cutting edge of landing gear technology for over 90 years, since the innovative designs of Sir George Dowty. YOU can be a part of our legacy…
What will I be doing?
Operate conventional & numerically controlled (CNC) equipment used to perform production of Landing Gear pipes (bending, swaging of hydraulic fittings, pressure testing etc.) in accordance with production processes, using approved programs, and in line with quality, cost, deadline and safety requirements.
From time to time, you may be required to give line side support to the Landing Gear Assembly line.
In addition, you will be self-motivated and able to demonstrate problem-solving capabilities (e.g. managing non-compliance, poor handling, etc.).
The candidate should be able to contribute proactively to improvement activities for example improving quality of the product or reducing production time.
•Prepare and install tools, measuring and test equipment and automatic control stations
•Load the computer programs specified in the production procedures
•Input production equipment settings and ensure that it functions correctly
•Run the machine program to perform the operations, and perform the intermediate checks specified in the production process, drawings or written instructions, ensuring geometric tolerances and quality compliance
•Inspect the finished product and identify any defects
•Where appropriate, take part in adjustment or follow-up operations
•Enter and save/log production data in the production management file (computer or paper-based)
•Maintain the workstation, tools and work area in good condition, in accordance with guidelines
•Propose technical improvements (to products and/or processes) or organizational improvements (to workflows, workload, etc.) aimed at improving work conditions and industrial performance indicators
