Marc Daniels are currently recruiting a Payroll Clerk to join a large growing multi-national based in Newcastle. Our client is well suited to those looking to progress their careers with a large company and have their studies supported.
This role will be right for you if you have any experience in payroll and are looking to work in a large supportive organisation.
Responsibilities:
1. Maintaining payroll information by collating, calculating and entering data
2. Updating payroll records by entering any changes to employee information or benefits such as job title changes, exemptions and saving deductions
3. Preparing reports that include summaries of earnings, tax deductions, leave, compassionate leave and non-taxable wages
4. Pension administration
5. Calculating payroll liabilities by determining employee taxes, including federal and state income and social security tax, and calculating employer’s payments for social security, unemployment and worker’s compensation
6. Resolving payroll discrepancies and answering any employee payroll queries
7. Maintaining all payroll operations according to company policies and procedures
8. Processing and issuing P45 forms to employees
9. Maintenance of time and attendance system
10. Ad-hoc duties as requested
Requirements:
11. Strong computer skills such as typing, system and software knowledge
12. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to communicate with employees regarding their issues and concerns
13. Ability to multitask in a stressful environment with specific deadlines
14. Confidentiality and respect for the privacy of employee records
