Sellick Partnership, on behalf of a London Local Authority, are recruiting for a litigation lawyer, solicitor, or barrister, to join their well-regarded legal services team.
This is an excellent post for a qualified solicitor or barrister who is wanting to extend their experience in public sector litigation work. We are looking for a litigation lawyer to advise client officers, and have conduct of litigation on behalf of the council. Local Authority experience is highly desirable. A practising certificate is essential.
The successful litigation lawyer will work on a wide range of litigation matters, such as:
* Judicial Review
* Debt recovery (including adult Social Care debt)
* General Civil Litigation
* No recourse to public funds
* Homelessness
* Prosecutions
* Licensing
The litigation team is very friendly and supportive, and can offer some training where appropriate. The team and council are highly regarded and have worked on some really interesting cases.
The post will suit an ambitious team player who will be able to adapt well within the local authority. Our client is happy to consider candidates from either a public sector or private practice background. The role is hybrid working with ideally 2 days office attendance, but this is not a deal breaker. The locum contract is initially for 3 months with a view to extend.
We encourage interested applicants to apply immediately to be considered for short listing. Alternatively should you require further information or wish to discuss your suitability before applying please contact Rayhaneh Tehrani in our Manchester office for a confidential discussion.
