IT Support & Junior Developer
Location: North Yorkshire (Close to York and Harrogate)
Job Type: Full-time, Onsite
Are you someone who enjoys solving IT problems and wants to gain experience in system support and development? Whether you're a recent IT graduate and/or have some IT support experience, this role offers a fantastic opportunity to grow your technical skills in a supportive environment.
The role is located between York and Harrogate. Close to Cattal rail station if preferring to travel by rail.
What You’ll Be Doing:
* First-line IT support – Helping colleagues with tech issues (software, hardware, networking, mobile devices, and business applications like SAP B1).
* System monitoring & maintenance – Keeping things running smoothly, updating systems, and preventing issues before they happen.
* SQL-based reporting & database work – Assisting with data management, reporting, and basic SQL queries.
* Software development & testing – Getting hands-on with low-level coding and system improvements (think VB.Net, C#.Net, or ASP.Net).
* Working alongside an experienced IT Manager – Learning on the job and developing your skills in system administration, networking, and development.
What We’re Looking For:
* IT-related degree and/or some hands-on experience in a commercial IT support role.
* Familiarity with Windows OS, Microsoft Office, and basic networking.
* An interest in SQL databases, development, or system administration (any exposure to VB.Net, C#.Net, or SAP B1 is a bonus!).
* A strong problem-solving mindset and the ability to work independently.
* Great communication skills – you’ll be supporting colleagues across the business (70-80 users).
* Able to work onsite full-time and provide hands-on IT support as needed.
* A driver's license is also required to travel between sites (all N.Yorks and a pool car will be available for use).
