About the role
Connex Education is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to provide one-to-one support for a child with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) in a Year 3 class at a primary school in Arnold. This is an excellent opportunity to make a real difference in a young person's educational journey through dedicated individual support.
Assignment Details
This is a full-time position working during school hours, available for immediate start. The role involves working closely with one pupil to support their learning needs and ensure they can fully participate in classroom activities.
Key responsibilities include:
* Providing dedicated one-to-one support during lessons
* Implementing specific learning strategies and interventions
* Supporting the pupil's social integration within the class
* Working closely with the class teacher to adapt learning materials
* Helping maintain detailed records of the pupil's progress
Person Specification
We are looking for a compassionate and patient individual who has a genuine interest in supporting children with additional needs. Experience working with SEND pupils is beneficial, but we are primarily interested in candidates who demonstrate:
* A caring and nurturing approach
* The ability to build positive relationships with children
* Good communication skills
* Flexibility and adaptability in supporting different learning needs
* A commitment to helping children reach their full potential
We don't require specific qualifications as we provide full training through Connex Academy. We focus on the transferable skills you have and your attitude towards working in education.
