About Our Client
Our client is a well-established, top 25 accountancy firm with a footprint across the UK.
Job Description
The role will include the following duties:
1. Preparing and potentially reviewing UK corporation tax computations.
2. Monitoring reporting and payment deadlines.
3. Working closely with audit and accounts team to advise on tax accounting entries and disclosures.
4. Training and mentoring junior colleagues within the Business Tax Team.
5. Providing corporation tax compliance proposals and quotes to prospective clients.
6. Subject to experience, coordinating and reviewing other business tax related returns (e.g. ATED, ERS, EMI, P11Ds etc).
7. Monitoring and managing financial performance in line with KPIs.
8. Managing any related correspondence with clients and HMRC.
9. Identifying opportunities for tax planning, risk mitigation and cross-selling between service lines to ensure clients receive a proactive and effective service.
10. Assisting with any other ad hoc projects and duties as may reasonably be required.
11. Ensuring the Firm's technical, ethical, risk and compliance procedures are adhered to in all cases.
The Successful Applicant
A successful Corporate Tax Senior should have:
1. A relevant accountancy/tax qualification: ACA/ACCA/CTA etc.
2. Corporate tax technical and practical knowledge.
3. Good knowledge of tax issues affecting OMB's and their shareholders.
4. Knowledge of other business taxes and tax reporting processes is preferable but not essential.
5. Knowledge of UK accounting standards and competent in interpreting accounts and other financial information.
6. Strong IT skills including MS Office and databases; Alphatax ideal but not essential.
7. Strong communication and organisation skills.
