About the role
As a key support role in the Surfacing team, you will provide effective and proactive support through accurate and timely data and documentation control, plan and monitor quality assurance in different roading surfaces. Facilitate onsite field testing, using mathematical and machinery procedures.
This is a full-time permanent position. You will be working a minimum of 40 hours per week over 5 days, Monday to Sunday, typically worked between 6.00 am to 6.00 pm. On occasion, you may be required to work evenings to meet the needs of the business.
Key Responsibilities
* Maintain accurate daily time sheets and prepare sites for asphalt operations.
* Load, secure, and transport plant and materials to and from sites.
* Operate and maintain small hand tools and equipment, including pre-start checks.
* Perform hand-laying and screeding of asphalt, and assist with paver operations.
* Identify and manage hazards, including underground and overhead services.
* Liaise with foreman and supervisor to ensure job requirements and quality standards are met.
What you’ll bring to the role
* Previous surfacing experience and understanding of products used in asphalting.
* Understanding of traffic management rules.
* Excellent math skills for accurate measurements and calculations.
* Full clean New Zealand Driver’s License, Minimum Class 1; Class 2 and WTR beneficial.
* Site Safe Civil Passport and First Aid would be highly advantageous.
* Sound verbal and written communication skills.
* Reliable, honest, and flexible.
