We are looking for a Pump Assistant to join our team based in Hartlip, Kent. The Trainee Pump Engineer will be learning and assisting in all aspects of servicing and repairing pumped drainage products such as wastewater pumping stations, packaged pump systems, rainwater harvesting units, and all other related equipment. The Pump Trainee will be required to learn all aspects of mechanical and electrical skills. The role could take you all over the country. You will work in a field service capacity, covering various sites servicing and maintaining pumps.
Pump Assistant Position Overview
1. To assist your lead pump engineer in all aspects of the works.
2. Service and maintenance role working on sewage/clean water pump stations, sewerage treatment plants, and rainwater harvesting units.
3. Provide feedback on parts used in line with procedures to complete a task.
4. Liaise with customer on-site team members and management.
5. Must be prepared to commute to where the works take you.
6. Due to the nature of work, flexible working hours are a must.
7. A desire to work hard and earn overtime.
8. Willingness to maintain our rigorous standards of health and safety.
9. Calm and professional people skills.
10. Attention to detail.
11. An ability to write clear and concise job reports.
Pump Assistant Position Requirements
1. Experience of working as a pump service engineer is an advantage but not essential.
2. You will be working on submersible clean & foul water pumps, pressurisation units & booster sets, treatment plants, and rainwater harvesting systems.
3. Ability to think outside the box and work as part of a team.
4. Willing to learn a new trade for a lifelong career in the industry.
5. Ideally a good electrical understanding but not essential.
6. Own transport to meet with team lead engineers.
7. A valid clean UK driving license is required.
Pump Assistant/Trainee Position Remuneration
1. Salary £26, dependent on age and experience.
2. 45-hour contract; overtime paid once contracted hours completed.
3. Travel paid.
4. 20 days holiday + bank holiday.
