Quantity Surveyor - 6 Month Contract
Are you a skilled Quantity Surveyor with a proven track record in delivering success on large-scale infrastructure projects? We're seeking a driven professional to join our client's team on a 6-month contract, taking a pivotal role in managing the commercial and financial aspects of high-value, complex projects. This is an excellent opportunity to showcase your expertise in cost management, contract administration, and strategic financial oversight. You'll play a critical part in ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards. Job Description
Your purpose:
1. Involvement in both pre- and post- contract commercial management and quantity surveying duties throughout the project lifecycle.
2. Provide high-quality cost control to ensure successful delivery across a range of contracts and safeguard interests.
3. Adhere to the project commercial strategy to maximise revenue, cash flow & EBIT.
4. Support project teams in change control and providing weekly and monthly updates to project leads.
5. Proactively engaging and offering commercial support to project teams including regular visibility across offices and sites, where teams are based.
6. Support bid teams where required on strategic bids with clients and contractors in line with requirements.
7. Comply with the Company Management System (CMS) and all procedures.
8. Help with wider market and divisional requirements as they arise and deliver to business and project deadlines.
What you can bring:
1. Appropriate Degree and committed to work towards membership with relevant professional body (e.g., MRICS, MCInstCES etc).
2. Prior experience in a quantity surveying role from main contractor or consultancy, and knowledge of contract management and change control.
3. Understanding of the principles of common Forms of Contract (particularly NEC & NEC PSC).
4. Ability to communicate effectively with others in project and business unit teams, including through use of various Microsoft packages such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Teams.
5. Exemplar verbal and written communication skills including reports, presenting and contractual correspondence.
6. Demonstrable experience of managing others in commercial or project teams.
